Depicting studies of Anorexia, the symbol conveys the ideology of an eating disorder being transluent, in the sense that we quick to blame individuals for the lack of food consumption as a form of personal choice. Without knowledge or understanding, society consciously and unconsciously dissect the Anorexic for the statement of their physical appearance, of which are bones. This piece symbols argues a point which is increasing controversial in the media. The piece is entitled "Transluency" even though that it may be argued that it is transparent (on plastic perspex) due to the fact that there are still unknown and hidden truths to not only eating disorders, but identity and "the self".
