Photo Description:
For this piece I experimented with several different textures and colours, and I worked roughly from a photograph taken at Wallington Hall. To give an impression of the tangled foliage and complexity of the structures, I used hessian, string and hay with a layer of PVA and emulsion paint to seal it. The colours were inspired by photographs from Holy Island. I kept the colour scheme fairly neutral and close to reality to give a sense of abstracted realism within the piece.
