Dangers of Teenage Smoking

Dangers of Teenage Smoking
Photo Description:
This photo is from a series of anti-smoking adverts done in an attempt to advertise the dangers of smoking to the younger generation. I was inspired by the concept of ‘shock advertising’ and how it can be used to affect the public. For this series I took two different shoots. First was a location shoot with the model who was smoking, and the second of a skull in the photography studio. Using Photoshop I overlaid the skull onto the model, the skull is associated with pain and death which will grab the attention of the viewer and therefore show why not to smoke. The aim for this series is to create a shocking anti-smoking campaign. I thought it would be more controversial and therefore thought provoking to use a teenager for the shoot. This brings the issue of smokers starting so young and then becoming addicted which could harm or ruin their future, the future of our country.
