Ghost Box Chair

Ghost Box Chair
Photo Description:
This piece was inspired in particular by Zurbaran’s use of light and dark and illusionistic fresco. The piece is comprised of two stacked stools, with a translucent box placed on top, with a large piece of cloth covering the objects. There is a strong light shining behind. In this piece, I particularly wanted to get across the shadows of the chairs underneath the cloth and the folds of fabric. When you look at the piece, you are not meant to know what it is exactly that you are looking at, just to wonder what you are actually seeing.
