Protection dress

Protection dress
Photo Description:
This piece of 'wearable art' was designed and made by Sonia in response to her concern about the disease of malaria. It incorporates elements such as syringes which form a 'corsage' on the bodice, the skirt is made up of wing shapes inspired by those of mosquitoes, the protective net is embellished with pills and the design of the bodice shows the spread of the disease. The decorative appearance disguises a deadly message. This a a very original piece and totally authentic in its design, Sonia gas been very inventive with techniques and media to achieve the effects she wanted. I is a wearable piece.
