Fate

Fate
Photo Description:
Thread is deeply symbolic in many cultures. It represents the umbilical cord, which connects us to the mother goddess, and guides us on our path through the web of the universe. Red is the colour of blood, passion, and mortality. This series portrays four different myths involving red thread, with a modern aesthetic. Theseus holds the thread of Ariadne, a young woman wears a Kabbalah bracelet on her left wrist, two souls are connected by the string of fate, and Atropus, one of the three Fates, cuts the string of life. These myths come from around the world, but when brought together, they tell a single story— the story of human life.
