Constructed Comfort

Constructed Comfort
Photo Description:
24'' x 36'' In this series, I was looking at the manipulation of spacial environment in instanced where comfort is necessary, but perhaps challenged. This is shot in my aunt's bathroom. I stay at the house frequently, yes it is a place I often still feel discomfort and displaced. The bathroom is a place where vulnerability, privacy, and comfort all come into play, and a feeling of home and safety is of utmost importance in such a place where one related to their body and self on a very intimate level. Bringing plants and nature into the bathroom provides a feeling of security, familiarity, and control, giving myself those essential factors in a place that doesn't provide them for me.
