Curiosity

Curiosity
Photo Description:
The painting shows how oppression and hindering someone from expressing themselves verbally, or through other creative methods can come in forms less obvious than others. A person may not even object to these methods as on the surface they may not seem so heinous. Constricting a person can be done in manipulative ways that do not seem harmful and give the appearance of helping them. The expression in the subject's child-like eyes conveys that curiosity and creative thinking continues despite silence, and even to an extent despite oppression. That a person's inner childish fascination with the world is not something that can be easily extinguished or crushed.
