The Laborer in The Sun

The Laborer in The Sun
Photo Description:
Medium: sun shading, rope, door frame Size: 3.5 7 feet Date: 2015 October This piece talks about child labor, which I frequently observe around my surroundings. Being one of countries having highest percentage of child labor, India has many children working or used as bonded labor by large company or adults. To connect this concept, this piece is made out of red sun shading used for car which, I observed, is mostly sold by children on the road. To emphasize the idea them being bonded, I appropriated the red riding hood character representing youth and as on the center, entangled on rope, it further stresses children remaining powerless to the force
