The Shadows of Pear Mountain

The Shadows of Pear Mountain
Photo Description:
I've always admired the bright colors of a green pear. I felt the need to illustrate a pear, but with a slight twist to its message. Depicted in this drawing is a pear mountain where small black figures are seen standing on top of the fruit. This piece means to express the concept of existential nihilism. The people compared to the pear are quite minuscule. They appear to have little significance in this world. The gray color in the background attributes to this dull perception. However, the bright green color of the pear seems to tell a different story. In the process of creating this piece, I explored my own beliefs about human existence. The medium is colored pencil.
