Photo Description:
Inspired by optical illusions, this piece illustrates the idea that we should see things in multiple perspectives instead of one. Taking the internet as an influence creating this work, we are often under speculations from strangers and netizens when visiting websites and playing games. The unknown aspect of the internet strikes mystery and curiosity simultaneously that we tend to neglect the private and dangerous factors within the virtual world. Just as the plastic film of the window in front, it blocks our view and limited our horizon. But if we were to look at the work outside of the film in different angles we may see more, for example, the letters “LOOK” popped out of the flat surface of the work. Hence, with the 3D and 2D elements of the piece, I hope the awareness is heightened and well-informed.
