Bearwood College is a school providing an all-round, high quality academic education for girls and boys between the ages of three months and 18 years old.
Bearwood has three constituent parts:
• Nursery, an all-year, all-day nursery providing care and early education for babies from three months to three years of age;
• Prep, our junior school or prep department for girls and boys aged 4-11;
• College, our senior school which offers GCSE and A-Level courses.
All three sections share the same Board of Governors and are led by the Head. Both the Nursery and the Prep have their own sectional heads.
Bearwood is very proud of its history. Its origins lie in its role as a school for children of merchant seamen whose families faced straitened circumstances. This truly charitable beginning has coloured the way the College relates to its pupils. They are cared for as individuals and their differences and various personalities are celebrated. All the characteristics of a pupil are valued, as a child would be in a family.
The whole of the College shares the same philosophy and operates from a shared set of values, the most important of which is that the interests of our pupils are paramount.
