Gangnam International School

Seoul / Korea, Republic of

Gangnam International School The GIS Education Group, sole proprietorship, founded by Mi Ryung Lee in 1985, has Kindergarten School, GIS International School, Art Institute, Music Conservatory, Language Institute, Sports Academy, Publishing Company, and a Non-Profit Organization, Asia Cultural Exchange Foundation (ACEF), and Indochina Cultural Exchange Foundation (ICEF), in Vietnam. GIS Education Group has departed its journey as a kindergarten school having multiple locations in Seoul and Gyeonggi Province. The first Kindergarten was established in Gangdong-Gu, Seoul, having multiple locations throughout the city, and it has made its way to Gyeonggi Province, where we are currently located. The school is in the midst of a quiet residential area in the suburbs. At this current location, it has started off as I Want Kindergarten about 8 years ago, and it is supported/accredited by the Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education. There are about 120 students in the kindergarten sector.
Gangnam International School (GIS) is a private school located in the cosmopolitan city of Seoul, Republic of Korea. GIS has departed its journey in the fall of 2012, affiliated with ACSI, and is a member of Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). In January of 2014 GIS was accepted as a candidate for WASC school accreditation and will soon embark upon the self-study phase of the accreditation process. Currently, the school consists of having 23 students total from grade 8-12. Most of our students and their parents are Korean with a wide range of socioeconomic status.
