ag·glom·er·a·tion [uh-glom-uh-rey-shuhn]
–noun
1. a jumbled cluster or mass of varied parts.
This piece is designed to invoke imagery of historical, ancient libraries in the way it is arranged - jumbled on the floor. The crude, linear facial prints were inspired by artists such as Kathë Kollwitz – who used linear lines to mirror the contours of a face. The unnatural and striking expressions of each face, in addition to the rough edges of each print (creating an effect of them being effortlessly repeated), gives the entire piece as itself an air of the macabre. |
