Benton Dene School is a specialist school for children from across North Tyneside with Moderate Learing Difficulties, Autism Spectrum Disorder and/ or Complex Needs. It caters for children from 4 to 11 and has recently moved to a new purpose built building, shared with Benton Dene Primary, a mainstream primary school. Over 50% of our pupils are diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder and many of our pupils are very creative and highly motivated by the arts. We have specialist Art, DT and Music rooms, and have been a Creative Partnerships Enquiry and Change school.
