One-fifth of students are from states outside California, and 25% come to Art Center from countries outside the U.S. Of the latter, 47 different countries are represented. Graduate Studies enrollment is around 8% of the total. An extraordinarily high percentage of them find employment in their chosen fields within one year of graduation.

Pasadena and the surrounding areas offer a variety of housing options for Art Center students. Students are responsible for finding their own housing since there are no dormitory facilities available at Art Center. The Office of Student Life provides information on the types of housing available in the area as well as a weekly housing list with available rooms, guesthouses, apartments and houses in the nearby area. Generally, a one-bedroom apartment starts at about $800 a month, a two-bedroom starts at around $1200, guesthouses rent from $650 and up and rooms for rent can be as cheap as $350.
