Our Aims

The studies are organised as per the Ministerial Orders of 10 November 1988, 6 March 1997 & 13 November 2006, and the Metz School’s own New Technologies Project. On completion of the five year course, students are awarded a post-graduate diploma (DNS).

Department and information about the department

The Art option involves research and experimentation with the aim of training young creators in the various forms of contemporary art.

The teaching uses all the School’s educational resources and combines the various processes used in the creation of images and of installations, putting special emphasis on the concept of space in the plural and of time.

Academic Staff and Description

In particular the School sets up partnerships for specific operations that both elucidate and enhance the further development of its educational program.

Based on the teaching of drawing and the use of colour and volume as key elements in understanding of creation in plastic art, it enables students to combine theory and practice. Students are also introduced to multimedia creation through photography, video and publishing.

The teaching of fundamental skills is replaced by methodological approaches in the numerous creative fields. The second year’s teaching modules cover in-depth training and complementary approaches, techniques and concepts in the plastic arts and include various Workshops (introduction to and mastery of the appropriate tools). The major emphasis in this phase is on New Technologies, Hypermedia, Art and Scenography.

This covers two options, Art and Communications, and allows students to choose individual work schedules. They are also required to choose interdisciplinary options combining scenography and multimedia and encouraging a continuous interplay between the two main subjects.

The student can enrich his/her personal s...  [ Read All ]
