Escuela De Arte Y Superior De Diseno (EASD). School Of Art And College Of Design

Our school is an institution created in 1886 within the best tradition of artistic education. This tradition appeared in England at about the middle of the 19th century in order to improve the beauty of everyday objects.
The beautiful building in which the school is located, with typology of cloister plant, was devised in 1914 by Antonio Rubio and Luis Mosteiro, following the eclectic style that prevailed in Madrid at that time. The treatment and variety of its materials and spaces make of it an outstanding example of integration of decorative arts and architecture.
Since then, we have been the only institution devoted to the teaching of art. For decades the school has trained craftsmen and professionals of different artistic jobs and occupations. Some of them, with will and talent, made their headway into artistic creation.
From 1963 onwards successive educative systems have been including this school in formal teaching. In 1973 decoration was introduced as speciality. Our Aims

The aim of our college is to train professionals able to work in different fields related to design.  

Location and Getting there

The School of Arts and College of Design (EASD) is located right in the heart of Logro√Īo, next to the city hall and it is also the link between the Avd. de la Paz boulevard and the famous Espol√≥n square, which is considered as the nerve centre of the daily activity of the city. No doubt, a great location for a great school.

Within the college there are the following departments: graphic design, product design, interior design, history of art, artistic drawing, ceramics, media and image.

Information For  Undergraduates

The college of design offers a three-year programme in upper studies of design in the following disciplines: product, graphic and interior design (see webpage for curriculum details)
An artistic ceramics two-year course and a desktop publishing one-year courses are also offered

Student Facilities

The EASD (the School of Arts and College of Design) is a four-floor building and it is highly equipped with the latest advances in technology for school use. It also has the following facilities:

· 2 exhibition rooms: one of 500 m2 and another of 80 m2
· Library with 9500 works
· Photocopy service
· Cafeteria
· Engraving workshop
· Fully equipped image classroom

How To Apply

The entrance to the studies offered by our school is done in a number of ways:
1. By taking the entrance tests and examinations established for the two levels of studies provided in this school: vocational training and upper studies of design. These tests comprise several levels of previous studies. In order to undertake these examinations it is necessary to preregister and once the candidate passes the examinations, they can register on the dates and timetables already scheduled.
2. Students who are studying the same courses in other Spanish Official School of Arts can continue them in our school by requesting by letter to our secretary the transfer of their records to our school, which will be granted depending on the possibilities of space and interests of the school.
3. Applicants who come from different educational systems from the Spanish one have to enter as stated in point 1 above.
