Department and information about the department

The Art Department at Randolph College places a core emphasis on drawing, painting and printmaking. Students receive a broad background in the liberal arts, which includes an immersion in art history. The department is expanding it's scope to embrace photography and filmmaking. Students have the opportunity to work first hand with a world class collection of American art at the on-campus Maier Museum of Art. Small class sizes allow for a close mentor relationship with professors. The Visiting Artists Program brings internationally known artists to work with students in a wide variety of media and to share their professional and artistic experiences. The Annual Exhibition and Berlind Symposium brings artists, musicians, historians, performers, filmmakers, and professionals from the world of fine arts to campus.
