Rockland Center For The Arts

For 57 years, RoCA, Rockland Center for the Arts has been a vibrant cultural center in Rockland County, N.Y. We present a variety of highly acclaimed cultural arts programs including an extensive School for the Arts, exhibitions, a performing arts series and RoCA's Summer Arts Day Camp.

RoCA provides opportunities for artists to exhibit, perform, create & teach.

Location and Getting there

Exit on right for Route 303 South (soon after Stop & Shop). Turn right onto Route 303 South. Go immediately under an overpass and turn right onto Route 59 East. Make the next right at Route 303 North. You will be on a service road. Take very first left off service road onto South Greenbush Road. The Center is 2/10 of a mile on the left.

From the Palisades Interstate Parkway ::

Exit #8E (if you are coming from the North) onto Route 59 East. Proceed east about 2 miles to Route 303 North exit. Turn right onto service road. Take first left off the service road onto South Greenbush Road. The Center is 2/10 of a mile on the left. Exit #5N (if you are coming from the South) onto Route 303 North for about 3 miles and turn right at the Route 59 East exit which will put you on a service road. Make the first right off the service road onto South Greenbush Road. The Center is 2/10 of a mile on the left.

From the New York Thruway (Tappan Zee Bridge) ::

JiffY PoP celebrates the landscape of our consumer driven society that bombards us with symbols, logos and marketing images, filled with promises of a better life by acquiring "stuff". The exhibition focuses on artwork that specifically references the lexicon of consumer images, updating and reinventing what the Pop Art Movement of the 60's began.

Student Facilities

The Ceramic Studio:

The Ceramic Studio is fully equipped with 9 electric wheels, 2 kick wheels, a slab roller and an extruder. The Center also has outstanding firing facilities, which include 3 electric kilns, a gas kiln, Raku kiln and our new wood firing kiln. Clay can be purchased for $32 a brick (must be purchased at the Center) which includes glazing and firing. Please bring a towel and tools to class. Some tools are available for purchase in the Ceramics Studio.

Free benchtime is provided for adult students currently enrolled in a course. Benchtime begins the second week of class and schedules are posted on our Ceramic Studio door. The benchtime schedule is subject to change.
