Our Aims

Our most recent SDSU motto is "minds that move the world" emphasizing the growing international focus of education at SDSU, including international exchange opportunities. We offer a broad range of disciplines, with content-focused education in the arts.  

Location and Getting there

SDSU is located about 7 miles east of downtown San Diego, on the mesa above mission valley. Driving: take the College Ave. exit from the I-8 freeway. SDSU is immediately south of the freeway. You can reach SDSU on the San Diego Trolley as well.  

Department and information about the department

The School of Art, Design and Art History offers both the B.A. and the M.A. in the visual arts, design and art history, and M.F.A. degrees in the visual arts and in design. Emphasis areas in the visual arts include: painting, printmaking, sculpture, jewelry and fine metals, ceramics, furniture/wood, and photography. The design areas include multimedia, graphic design, and interior design.
