Department and information about the department

The Industrial Design school is based on the Esteiro-Ferrol Campus of the university.  

Information For  Undergraduates

The department offers a three-year course in Technical Engineering in Industrial Design.

Course subjects in year one are: Artistic Expression, Graphic Expression, Basic Physics, Basic Mathematical Engineering, Design Methodology, History of Art and Design, Information Technology and Statistics.

Course subjects in year two are: Computer-based Design, Materials, Mechanical Systems, Aesthetics, Economic and Business Aspects of Design, Machine Theory.

Course subjects in year three are: Design and Production, Industrial Processes, History of Design, Marketing, Computer Analysis, Information Technology and Communication Applied to Design, End of Course Project.

Extra course options include: Modern Industrial Design, Design Applied to Production in Galicia, Photography and Image, Quality Control, Innovation and Design, Operative Research, Industrial Logistics, Recycling and the Environment, Models and Prototypes, Advanced Information Technology and Legislation.

The course includes a final project and work experience.  

Information For  International Students

The university collaborates closely with other foreign institutions to develop strong contacts abroad and welcomes international students to its school in order to promote European mobility on a large scale.

The International Relations Office (IRO) is in charge of the university participation in European and worldwide projects and programmes of interest to our university community.

Its function is to inform, coordinate and advise the university community about the different programmes which exist and also to prepare and do the follow-up of all international agreements.

The objective of the IRO is to foment the participation of all university members in international activities such as students and teaching staff exchange programs, and interuniversity cooperation for development, providing a quality service to university members, through which any student, professor or administrative staff will obtain information, help and service to fulfill their academic/professional goals at international level.
