Aided by various supports – photography, video, drawing and sculpture – the artist develops an artistic investigation choosing the element of water over the other elements of nature: earth, air and fire. This choice is no mere symbolic illustration of this particular element. Luisa Mota develops a creative vocabulary that goes beyond historical, religious and social references associated to the symbol at cause. In this way, the artist constructs new narratives, new visions and new metaphors building an elaborate web of ideas and symbols that question the essential premises of contemporary society.
