The first workshop involved learning about collage and photomontage artists, whilst also exploring and manipulating copies of images of JR’s portraits to create artworks that expressed their different identities and emotions. During a second workshop, the participants revisited their collages and some brought their own materials to develop the work further. Using professional photographic equipment, everyone enjoyed taking expressive portraits of each other, inspired by JR’s portraits and collaborative approach to creating his work. This exhibition shows all elements of the two-day workshop process.
