Education - Museu del Cinema, Collecció Tomás Mallol

The Museum’s Educational Service offers a team of qualified and experienced supervisors, rooms and areas equipped with didactic resources and material, a program of educational activities and a reference, information and training area for topics relating to the audiovisual world.
Its objective is to maximise the didactic value of a school visit to the museum, by working in the common areas between the museum and the school curriculum, and to maximise the use of the museum as an educational resource that compliments and supports school projects, optional subjects, annual projects, research work, etc.

1. Make use of our advisory service to organise your program. You could come to the presentation session or at any other time to find out more about the Museum and its activities. We will be happy to help you during our normal opening hours. During these times you could also contact us by telephone ( +34 972 412 777) or by e-mail (gcarbo@ajgirona-org). The possibilities and combinations of activities are limitless. Please do not hesitate to request a program tailor made to your needs.
2. It is essential to reserve the date and the time of your visit (even if this time happens to be free) or for any other educational activity by telephoning +34 972 412 777 and asking for Gemma Carbó. Once the reservation has been made, we will send you the confirmation by fax. Please bring this with you on the day of your visit and present it to the ticket office. Cancellation of the visit or of some of the groups without giving 24 hours notice will still require a 50% payment of the total cost of the visit.
3. The maximum number of pupils per group is 29. If you are less than 15 pupils, the activity will be priced per group (refer to the specific information for each activity).
4. Payment for the activity is made at the ticket office in cash or by cheque when you arrive at the Museum (except for special activities). It will help us greatly to know the exact number of pupils in each group/activity.
5. The Museum is a public place and we ask that the pupils behave correctly. To achieve this we have laid down some basic rules of behaviour whilst in the Museum:
- No eating or drinking in the Museum
- It is necessary to always follow the instructions of the person in charge of the activity or the management of the Museum
- No photography or video filming in the permanent exhibition (previous permission has to be obtained)
- Mobile phones and walkmans must be switched off when arriving at reception
- Teachers and supervisors must accompany their group during the whole activity and must assure that pupils abide by these rules of behaviour
6. Outside the Museu del Cinema there are two large public squares (plaça de Santa Susanna and plaça de la Constitució) with benches, water fountains, bars and restaurants. They are ideal places to have breakfast or lunch, or to play, rest, etc.
7. It is always an advantage if the pupils have worked on some relevant activities before the visit to the Museum. The Museum of the Cinema support activities offer some fun alternatives.
8. If you do any activities after the visit, we would be grateful if you could send us some of the pieces of work. This would help us to evaluate and improve the education service.
