Miyanomori Art Museum

Miyanomori Art Museum was established in April 2006.
It is the one museum for International and Japanese Contemporary Art in Hokkaido.

Permanent Collection

This museum has the greatest collection of Christo and Jeanne-Claude in Asia and Oceania. It has 3 000 photographs of the artist Daido Moriyama which was taken from 1950's. It presents Japanese Modern and Contemporary Art from 1950's to 1970's. The collection also includes artists like Lucio Fontana, Frank Stella, Jasper Johns, Guillaume Bottazzi, Yoshishige Saito, Lee Ufan, Sadamasa Motonaga, Takeo Yamaguchi, Kumi Sugai.

News and events

“HOPE 2011” is the title of a major event open for the Miyanomori Art Museum to the French artist Guillaume Bottazzi whose work will soon adorn the facade.
The cultural event will take place from September 16th to November 27th 2011. It will be presented in several forms : an exhibition, the public execution of a mural painting and cultural mediation.
