Musée Suisse De La Mode

Founded in 1982, The Swiss Museum of Fashion aims to conserve, enrich and put into value its precious patrimony. Its clothing and accessories, as well as the documents it houses originate largely from donations.

Permanent Collection

The collection comprises close to 5000 items of clothing and accessories, from the 18th century to the present. It houses a significant collection of the designer Robert Piguet (1898-1953), who is from Yverdon-les-Bains, and who set up his design house in Paris in 1933. The collection includes 3000 of his original sketches, photographs and documents.
The museum also presents several publications and fashion periodicals.

Exhibition runs until 4 November 2007
To celebrate its 25 year anniversary, this exhibition allows its visitors to discover or rediscover the collection’s most beautiful pieces, spanning three centuries of fashion history (1750 – 1990). The exhibition is accompanied by conferences and activities taking place throughout the exhibition period. Please see website for full program details.
