Prairie Art Gallery

The Prairie Art Gallery is a not-for-profit public art gallery serving the vast Peace Country Region of Northern Alberta and British Columbia.

Due to the recent structural disaster The Prairie Art Gallery has moved to it's new location at #103, 9856 - 97 Ave, Grande Prairie, AB T8V 7K2

Permanent Collection

The Gallery's collection currently stands at approximately 600 works of art, almost exclusively created in Alberta in the mid to late 20th Century.
The Collection is used extensively for exhibition and instruction, and is always available for research and study. Please contact the Gallery to make an appointment if you wish to examine works in storage.

The Prairie Art Gallery Permanent Collection

On March 19, 2007, a large part of the Prairie Art Gallery's historic facility collapsed under heavy snow load. The Gallery's collection was trapped inside the frozen building while engineers prepared the site for a rescue effort. With the fire department on hand, the collection was removed from the building, beginning several months of work that has resulted in the prevention of any permanent damage any works in the collection. 335 of these rescued works are on display in the Gallery's temporary location.
