Serpentine Galleries

Serpentine Galleries are among London’s best-loved galleries for modern and contemporary art. Its Exhibition, Architecture, Education and Public Programmes attract approximately 800,000 visitors a year and admission is free.

Permanent Collection

In the grounds of the Gallery is a permanent work by artist and poet Ian Hamilton Finlay, dedicated to the Serpentine’s former Patron Diana, Princess of Wales. The work comprises eight benches and a carved stone circle at the Gallery’s entrance.

The Serpentine Galleries is now two galleries in Kensington gardens. The Gallery and Koenig Book Shop opening hours are Tuesday - Sunday 10am - 6pm.

The Magazine restaurant opening hours are 10am – 6pm Tuesday and Sunday
10am – 11pm Wednesday – Saturday


The Serpentine Gallery is committed to making art accessible to all sectors of the community. The Serpentine’s Education Programme consists of an extensive range of educational activities, including talks and discussion, events and workshops.
