Tang Teaching Museum And Art Gallery
The Frances Young Tang Teaching Museum, designed by Antoine Predock is sited dramatically on Skidmore's scenic campus. The contemporary art museum's mission incorporates a focus on ideas, and regular use of the galleries as teaching space in educating us on new ways to view the arts.
A permanent collection of over 4,500 pieces is used primarily as a learning resource for faculty and students. Objects from the collection are often on view in the exhibitions.
As many as twelve new exhibitions each year fall into two catergories; large scale projects combining a wide variety of objects shown with works of internationally known contemporay artists, and retrospective solo artist exhibitions.
