Toledo Museum Of Art

The Toledo Museum of Art continues to grow in its facilities, its collection, and its relations with the Toledo community. A series of renovations to the interior of the original building from 1977 to 1992 was followed by the completion of the Center for the Visual Arts, designed by Frank Gehry. This building houses the Museum's Library and the Art Department of the University of Toledo.

In addition to the university art classes, the Museum maintains its own program of art classes for adults and children. In all of its endeavors, the Museum continually strives to fulfill its mission:

"We believe in the power of art to ignite the imagination, stimulate thought, and provide enjoyment. Through their collection and programs, we strive to integrate art into the lives of people."

Selected by an illustrious jury that included Kate Spade and Rob Forbes, the Glass Pavilion was recently named "Best Museum" in Travel + Leisure's 2007 Design Awards. According to the magazine's editor in chief, Nancy Novogrod, “…We continue to be impressed by the innovation, creativity and originality in the avalanche of Design Awards entries we received—our 2007 winners are an exceptional group."
